Grilled Romaine Lettuce

Ingredients (serves two people)

  • 2 heads Romaine Lettuce
  • ¼ cup Olive Oil
  • 3 Tablespoons Balsamic Vinegar
  • 1 pc Shallot, minced
  • 1 clove Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Oregano
  • Sea salt and Pepper to Taste

1. Cut the romaine lettuce in half lengthwise, then place in a large mixing bowl. Add the remaining ingredients, then place in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes.
2. While the lettuce is marinating, heat your grill to medium heat. Once hot, place the lettuce on the grill and cook each side for two minutes. Serve warm. This technique make a great addition to any Caesar Salad recipe. If you do not have a grill, try making this recipe on a griddle plate, or bake the lettuce in the oven set to 350⁰F for 20 minutes.
