Sesame Seed Candy Bars

Ingredients (serves 12 people)

  • 1 teaspoon Coconut Oil
  • 2 cups Sesame Seeds
  • ½ cup Honey
  • ½ cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon Ginger, ground

Directions

1. Coat a baking pan with the coconut oil and reserve on the side.

2. Place the sesame seeds in a sauté pan and cook them over medium heat, making sure to constantly stir the pan. Continue to cook the sesame seeds until they turn golden brown, around five minutes. Place the seeds in a mixing bowl.

3. Place the honey, sugar, cinnamon and ginger in the sauté pan and bring the mixture to a boil slowly, making sure to stir constantly. Once the mixture boils, reduce the heat to low and continue to cook for exactly two minutes. Remove from the heat and add the sesame seeds, making sure to stir constantly as you mix. Place the mixture on the baking pan, and allow the candy to cool for 15 minutes, or until it is lukewarm. Once warm, place the candy on a cutting board and cut into serving size portions. Allow the candy to cool completely, and store in a sealed container for up to one week if desired.
